We have a brand new opportunity to join our esteemed Private Wealth team in Newcastle or Bristol. Working as part of our Tax/Trust & Accounting team as a Tax Assistant, you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, preparing personal and trustees' tax returns and Trust accounts.

The role

You will be preparing tax returns and Trust accounts for review, dealing with the day to day affairs of your client portfolio, ensuring that engagement letters are in place for clients, and that fees are agreed and billed accordingly. Your client list will include personal, trusts and estates tax returns and accounts. You'll also assist other members of the team in the overall management of client affairs. Experience of trusts and Inheritance Tax is desirable but not essential.

What are we looking for?

We are of course looking for someone with previous experience of working within a personal tax environment and a relevant professional tax or accounts qualification such as ATT, AAT or CTA would be desirable. You'll be well-versed in the use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel and knowledge of CCH Personal Tax would be great. Professional communication is an essential part of this role, so a confident telephone manner and personable approach are both required. You'll also need be able to work closely with your team members in delivering a first class service to our clients. A working knowledge and understanding of trust accounts would also be useful, but we can support you with training in this area.
