We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Bristol office as a Business Support Manager. As part of the Business Support Team the main purpose of this role is to manage PA Services across OC's Bristol and TVO office.

This is a permanent, full time position (9am-5pm) and although usually based in the Bristol office, at present due to the UK Government guidelines, this position will be working from home however some office attendance will be required.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Head of Business Support Services, the role is responsible for managing PA services across OC's Bristol and TVO office. Working with colleagues to facilitate flexible cross-office working practices, ensuring an enhanced level of service to Fee Earners and Partners by effectively managing performance, workflow and resources for circa 60 PA's.

Working with the Head of Business Support Services and BSM group to improve firm-wide support service efficiencies, sharing and communicating best practice, continually enhancing the level of PA services across the firm.

The role includes the day to day management of circa 15 Senior PAs, ensuring regular one to ones and team meetings and sharing best practice & knowledge. The successful mentoring, development, coaching and training of the Senior PAs and other PAs is also essential, assisting them in the development of their people management skills and workflow.

What we're looking for

This is a senior position in the team so we are looking for someone who has a proven background in a similar role, gained ideally within in a professional services environment. We'll also need you to demonstrate previous experience in line management and people development. Also required:

  • Essential to have a management qualification and/or extensive people management experience in a professional services environment.
  • Ability to flexibly manage change and support the ongoing development of the business support function.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing new ways of working.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time and performance management.
  • Essential to be organised and be able to prioritise work.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Ability to remain calm and diplomatic even in a crisis.
