Job Details

Each of our Apprentices have their own story and all come from different backgrounds but they all share one thing in common; they've loved their apprenticeship with us.  And why wouldn't they?  They are part of an apprenticeship programme which won regional and national awards in 2016 and 2017!  They receive unparalleled support, work with excellent professionals in an innovative team and are offered high quality work.  We have been running apprenticeships for across our offices for many years, so we've learned what really works.

Why are we recruiting?

Our lawyers could not do what they do without our talented support services.  You don't have to be a lawyer to have a successful career in a law firm and our Client Support team are living proof of that. With increasing demand for data reporting and project management, alongside our firm's advancing technology, it's a very exciting time to be joining them. They are a multi-disciplinary team of Administrators, Project managers, Data Analysts and Client Co-ordinators looking for someone with an interest in a career in business support. Our current business administration apprentices are coming to the end of their apprenticeship.  The apprentices in Plymouth are a close bunch who support each other and enjoy mixing not just in work but outside too.  So it's easy to see why we're looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of apprentices to join us in September and that's where you come in.

About the role

You'll be supporting a high performing team called the Legal Solutions Centre in servicing our legal teams based across all of our 8 UK locations.  Within the LSC are teams of Paralegals, Solicitors and of course… the Client Support Services team which is who you'll be joining. It's a varied and exciting role that will see you carrying out a range of activities including the opening and closing of files, carrying out conflict checks for new and existing clients, drafting correspondence, amending documents, billing, client reporting and other associated administration tasks.  You'll receive training from a variety of members of the team including Administrators, at the right pace for you.  You'll be allocated a Supervisor, who will help you to keep on track with your studies and a mentor, an experienced team member dedicated to you to learn from.  You'll experience a broad variety of quality training, with exposure to household named clients and cutting edge work, which will help shape the direction of your career.

You'll undertake the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with CILEx Law School.

So what makes it so great to work here?

Firstly, we're award winning.  We've received recognition for our apprenticeship programme in the form of two awards reassuring you that the quality of support you'll receive here is second to none.

Secondly, we've worked hard and continue to work hard, to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits! We make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that often become lasting friendships.

There are lots of activities to get involved with, we love to see people keen to get involved with our responsible business strategy, so much so we'll even give you two days per year for this. Whether you're interested in charity events, organising social activities or being part of a sports team there really is something for everyone. In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary of £16,930 you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you..

What do we need from you?

You should have good academics; 3 A-levels at CCC or equivalent are a minimum. Beyond that, we will be looking for you to demonstrate a few core skills including team-working, communication, creative and analytical thinking, an ability to build strong and lasting relationships and a drive to succeed.
