Role: Digital Learning Designer
(FTC 12 months)
Location: Glasgow
At times you may be required to work in other offices.
Reporting to: Digital Learning Manager
Hours of work -
37.5 hours per week, however you may be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties
Department/ Role Overview:
The global Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) team is a centralised function predominantly based in Australia and the UK. The team works as one, providing the same high-quality learning experience and global offerings to our people in 27 offices around the world.
The Digital Learning team is part of the global Learning and Organisational Development team and is responsible for the creation and curation of all digital learning content (e-learning, video, audio and animation) required to support the development of our people and the requirements of our external clients. This role reports to the Digital Learning Manager and will, internally, work closely with senior stakeholders and Learning & Development Managers and, externally, with our broad client base. The role will include the development, design and evaluation of complex, high-quality and engaging digital learning content, primarily using Articulate Storyline 360 and other content creation tools including Adobe CC and Camtasia.
Main responsibilities:
- Working within the framework of the (P)ADDIE+M model to re-imagine and deliver an existing suite of classroom and online courses for digital access
- Working with key stakeholders from initial scope through to design, storyboarding, sign off, delivery and evaluation of learning
- Creation of best-in-class interactive e-learning content, using the Articulate 360 suite, including competency assessments
- Creation of digital assets (video, audio, infographics) to bring e-learning to life and engage all learning styles
- Upload and testing of content on our Learning Management System (LMS)
- Updating existing eLearning and digital learning content, when required
- To support our Digital Academy in the integration of next-generation learning technology
- Role-modelling our Ashurst Values to match the firm’s culture and enhance the perception of the team and the work we do
Technical requirements:
- Equally high level of competence using both MacOS and Windows
- Exceptional competence in the use of the Articulate 360 suite including the use of variables and javascript to create bespoke solutions
- A strong familiarity in editing video and audio through the use of Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition
- Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies.
Essential skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a digital learning design role
- A strong understanding of learning methodologies and instructional design
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of working in a professional services environment
- Experience of creating high quality digital content within tight deadlines
- Ability to perform well under pressure and to work to deadlines
- Excellent time management, planning and prioritisation skills
- Proactive, problem solving approach to work
- Ability to use own initiative to prioritise effectively and to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills suited to a professional environment
- Ability to flip between working in both a highly collaborative and an autonomous manner when required
Desired skills and experience
- Videography – using AV equipment to film and record media
- Digital learning design qualified – CIPD or other
- Experience of working globally across multiple time zones and cultures
