Job Details

You'll be joining our Chambers-rated employment team who advise clients across the full spectrum of general employment advice.

The hard working and friendly team in Leeds are part of a 30-strong national team, providing a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious advisory support and representation to our impressive FTSE 250 client base. They're now looking for a commercially focused employment lawyer to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

What will you be doing?

This role offers a true mix of work as you'll not only be advising clients on employment disputes (including Employment Tribunal work), TUPE, employee relations and business reorganisations, but you’ll also be helping them with contracts, policies and procedures and employee benefits.

You'll have the opportunity to advise senior executives as well as employers and work closely with your regional colleagues to provide important support on corporate and real estate projects.  The team's expertise help clients to spot critical issues quickly and present solutions that enable them to achieve their business objectives.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll be an experienced employment lawyer with an excellent academic background and a strong track record of delivering employment advice.  In addition to relevant technical skills we're also looking for strong drafting ability, attention to detail and a sense of commercial pragmatism.  You'll need to be a team player whilst also being pro-active in using your initiative and driving matters forward.  The ability to build lasting relationships with our clients, excellent communication and inter-personal skills are also key.  You'll be part of a growing team so that means plenty of opportunities to develop your business development skills; an important aspect for all of our lawyers.

What opportunities are there for me?

This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in a highly acclaimed practice.  Our fast-growing employment team are passionate about what they do and need a like-minded individual who has a true interest and commitment to what they do.  The role offers a perfect balance of both contentious and advisory work and an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our clients achieve their strategic objectives. You'll also get to work with a fantastic client base that includes local, national and international household names across the retail, manufacturing, housing, health, education and public sectors, amongst others, offering you access to the best quality work.

You'll have opportunities to contribute to the growth of the team by assisting with the organisation of and attending client events, writing articles for our website and other publications and other marketing activities.

In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes, we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

That's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose what suits you.
