Job Overview

Business Area: BD and Marketing

Role: Senior Digital Manager - 12 month FTC

Location: Based at Ashurst’s office in Glasgow. As part of the role, occasional travel to other Ashurst offices may be required.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30, however you will be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties.   

Department/ Role Overview:

As a Senior Digital Manager you will work to ensure that Ashurst digital channels are maintained and developed to position the firm in accordance with our strategy and values.

The ashurst.com website gets over 2.6 million visits per year from clients, prospective employees, press and current employees.  It is the "shop window" of the firm, and over 1,000 pieces of content are published annually.

Working closely with business development, PR, communications, IT, and our lawyers, you will be the business owner of ashurst.com, and the main point of contact in the business for campaigns and marketing initiatives with a digital element.  You will ensure that Ashurst stays at the forefront of digital maturity within the legal sector, and that our clients are at the heart of digital strategy.

You will also be prepared to "roll up your sleeves" and support with any aspect of maintaining our digital presence .  This is a senior role, but a willingness to be hands-on when required is necessary.

Main responsibilities:

  • Implement a strategic plan for building on the success of our digital platforms.
  • Work closely with our Office of General Counsel to understand and adhere to any regulations in any of the jurisdictions in which we operate that apply to digital marketing activity.
  • Own the processes and workflows in place to ensure content quality and minimise risk from an editorial and technical perspective.
  • Work closely with BD to provide strategic and tactical guidance on digital elements of BD activity.
  • Act as point of contact for our development team, and work closely with them in sprint planning, carefully prioritising bug fixes and product enhancements.
  • Be the "voice of digital" internally and ensure that our digital audience are at the forefront of activity undertaken by the firm.
  • Track performance against our core digital KPIs and benchmark against competitors. Report regularly to senior stakeholders on performance.

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in being product owner for a large-scale digital platform
  • Experience in at least one enterprise website CMS
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Proven experience of building and managing relationships with, and influencing, senior stakeholders
  • Experience in working with a global team
  • Basic technical understanding of cloud-based website technology
  • Basic working understanding of agile and scrum

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience of Google Data Studio
  • Specific experience in SiteCore 8 or 9
  • International experience in digital platform ownership
  • Sound understanding of the technical and non-technical aspects of SEO
  • Understanding of social media platforms from a B2B marketing perspective
  • Experience in financial or professional services
  • Experience in significant upgrade or re-platforming digital projects
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
  • Previous line-management experience
