THE OPPORTUNITY 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Document Automation Manager to join our team here at DLA Piper in our Leeds office, leading a growing team of automators at a truly international, full-service law firm, helping us to redefine the possible. You will be working right at the start of a project to build out an industry-leading service aimed at improving the working lives of over 4,000 lawyers, while delivering quality and consistency across their work for the benefit of our clients. This role involves working with the Knowledge and Legal Process Improvement teams and business users to increase the volume of automated documents across our International business using the firm's DocAuto tool, Contract Express.   

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Day to day management of document automation (DocAuto) across our International business in line with our strategic plan, including scoping and managing projects and the document automation pipeline
  • To manage the central DocAuto team
  • To manage the training of document automators, both within the central DocAuto team and in the wider business
  • To maintain our best practice DocAuto handbook
  • To maintain our DocAuto training materials and supporting collateral
  • To help champion DocAuto across our International business
  • To help develop the client facing aspects of document automation for identified projects as these arise within the International business
  • To manage the relationship with our document automation software provider
  • To liaise with our IT team to test and implement software updates
  • To act as a point of escalation for our IT support team to troubleshoot any issues which users may experience with DocAuto

  • Able to handle multiple priorities, working to sometimes conflicting timescales in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Client service orientated

Technical skills

  • An advanced working knowledge of document automation using Contract Express, preferably within a law firm.
  • Commercial awareness of the role of document automation in the delivery of legal services.
  • An advanced understanding of Microsoft Word.
