If you are looking to build a career in Compliance or Risk Management this is an exciting opportunity to join a Global Leading Law firm as a Conflicts Assistant. The focus of this role would be to perform legal and commercial conflict searches using the Firm's Global Conflicts Database on behalf of lawyers throughout the International Firm's offices (excluding the US).     

This role is a shift based role with various shift patterns. Conflicts Assistants are assigned to shift patterns which are essentially split down to Day and Evening shifts. Actual shift hours will be clarified upon application and will be dependent upon vacancies.       

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review conflict search request information submitted by lawyers in the International Firm, for accuracy and completeness

  • Liaise with lawyers throughout the International Firm in connection with queries arising from conflict search requests

  • Carry out conflicts searches against information held within the firm's Global Conflicts Database

  • Analyse resulting information for conflicts purposes and identify the existence of potential conflict issues and bringing them to the attention of relevant lawyers

  • Maintain information held in the firm's commercial and sensitive matter database

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a compliance/risk management role would be an advantage and candidates with extensive research and analysis experience will also be considered

  • Previous experience working in a commercial/law environment would be beneficial but not mandatory

  • Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level but non-graduates with previous compliance or conflicts search experience will also be considered

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail are an essential element of this role

  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively and exercise initiative

  • Ability to solve problems in a methodical and practical way

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
