Our Property Disputes team in Newcastle provide advice on the full range of contentious property issues. Working with a nationwide team of around 35 fee earners specialising in pure contentious work, the Newcastle team have a widely deserved reputation for the provision of excellent service.  Our clients include a number of FTSE 250 household names, across a range of sectors including transport and infrastructure, leisure, energy and charities.

The team in Newcastle, led by Property Disputes Partner, Jen Smurthwaite, has an exciting opportunity for a property litigator with at least two years' experience.  You'll be advising clients on a wide range of substantial contentious property matters, including commercial landlord and tenant (e.g. 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations and break notices), residential possession and disrepair claims, long leasehold cases and general property issues such as adverse possession, easements and title disputes.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll have at least two year's post qualification experience and keen to build on the exposure you've already had to quality property litigation work.  We are looking for a mix of commercial and residential property litigation experience combined with excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism and the ability to build lasting relationships with our clients.
