Job Details

Our national Real Estate dispute resolution team is one of the largest and most highly rated in the UK.  We're proud of our Chambers and Partners ranking -  Band 1 in the South West so you can be assured of the quality of the team you're joining.

The Bristol team, led by Partners, James Rees and Sasha Hinton advise a broad range of clients on all aspects of commercial property dispute resolution and property management. We have an enviable client list, made up of landlords and tenants (with national portfolios), developers and investors, ranging from significant public and quasi-public sector bodies to FTSE 250 household names across a range of sectors including retail, leisure, energy, central and local government, charities and transport and infrastructure.

As a business we're growing, and the Property Disputes practice are contributing to that through some exciting recent new client wins.

So what will you be doing?

In this close-knit supportive team, you'll not only be advising our clients on a wide range of substantial contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant (e.g. 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations and break notices) and general property issues such as adverse possession, easements and title disputes, you'll also play a vital role in the day to day supervision of junior members of the team. The Property Disputes Team works very closely with our transactional Real Estate team so you will have the opportunity to develop strong ties across the practice, as well as access to quality work from our existing high calibre client list.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll have a proven track record in delivering first rate real estate contentious advice gained at a City or leading regional firm.  Just as important will be your ability to apply a forensic intelligence to complex issues on behalf our clients, a proactive attitude to work, and a level of personal resilience to support challenging yet rewarding cases.  Any previous experience of mentoring and supervising the technical work of others will give your application a distinct advantage.

So what makes it so great to work here?

We're keen to help you shape your own career, whether that be as a recognised legal expert in your field, a great team player or a successful winner of new clients and where better than with an independently recognised leading Real Estate Disputes practice who are ranked ranked Band 1 in the South West and as National Leaders outside of London . Not only will you get to learn from true leaders in their field, you'll also have access to a variety of opportunities to really get to know and understand our clients business from the inside.

In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

That's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose what suits you.
