With a focus on eleven key sectors (Energy & Natural Resources; Financial Institutions; Healthcare;  Insurance, Manufacturing;  Real Estate; Retail and Consumer; Transport, Logistics & Infrastructure; Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals; Technology and Private Wealth) the firm’s experience allows it to build strong relationships and deliver an excellent service to clients.

The team

As a firm, we have always been committed to offering development opportunities that enable our people to deliver excellence to our clients and fulfil their potential, whilst supporting business growth and profitability.  As such, we offer exciting development programmes and other support to enhance skills and expertise and this is where our Learning & Development team come in.

The team design and deliver programmes to reflect our business objectives and help embed our values at all levels, including Lawyers, Private Wealth specialists, Business Support professionals and Secretaries.  They provide the support and help develop the skills to make sure our people feel confident in their roles and have a stretching and rewarding careers with us.  In addition, they also lead on talent management, as well as the overall L&D strategy and organisational change projects.

The role

Playing a key role within our L&D team, we are looking for an experienced Manager to join us in either our Bristol or Southampton office.

The role requires an understanding of how learning and development can contribute to business performance, how to identify and meet skill and development gaps and tailor the response and delivery accordingly.   This includes the provision of business, leadership and personal skills programme design with some delivery and also scoping and working with specialist external providers who deliver on our behalf.  There is also an opportunity to contribute to a wide range of OD projects and work with other in house support teams to support business performance.

The person

We are looking for someone to hit the ground running and who can make an immediate contribution.  Therefore, previous experience of working in a 'hands-on' learning & development role (where you have designed and developed training and development solutions) is essential.

The legal sector has a unique structure, so experience of working in a partnership environment within law or professional services is also required. It's a highly consultative environment and you'll be working with varied and complex stakeholder matrices.  You'll need to be a strong relationship builder and be capable of doing this across our geographical reach, being prepared to travel and project manage as necessary.

You'll need to be comfortable delivering business and personal skills programmes in a variety of settings (formal programmes, team days and workshops) and have experience of designing and developing for all of these forums.  The successful candidate will also support the external facilitation of our Leadership and Management Development programme, so making a contribution at this level is a must.

There is also an opportunity to be involved in one to one coaching and personal development planning.

As you would expect, we're seeking an excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) who is an engaging presenter with the ability to gain credibility at the most senior level within our business very quickly.
