Role - End User Compute Manager

Location: Glasgow

Reporting to: Head of Infrastructure and Operations

Hours of work - 0900-1730. Flexibility required

Department/ Role Overview:

Leader of a global team responsible for all end user compute services you will be expected to work closely with all teams in the IT function. As a Manager within this team you will assist in the mentoring of team members and assist in shaping the future of the firms End User Compute services. This role requires strong technical experience in the area or End User Compute

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the end to end development, management and support of Ashurst's End User experience, compute systems and services
  • Day to day management of the End User Compute team, dealing with any operational and staff issues, liaison with other team members and escalation to Head of Infrastructure and Operations as necessary
  • Implementation of agreed security policies
  • Establish and develop End User Compute processes and procedures and advocate industry standard best practices
  • Ensure maintenance of existing infrastructure

  • Mentor team members
  • Chair cross team workshops
  • Host weekly meetings.

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous leadership experience as an End User Compute Manager or Team Leader
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor team members
  • Work with a ticket logging system to agreed SLAs
  • Min. 5 years' experience supporting a Windows enterprise environment
  • Demonstrate ability to lead technical solutions
  • Experience of driving internal technical change
  • Able to delegate, influence and challenge constructively
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels in an organisation
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with rigorous attention to detail
