THE OPPORTUNITY  

We're looking for a qualified accountant to support the Management Information (MI) team objectives and to drive forward improvements to the controls and management reporting for DLA Piper across the UK & Internationally.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Information and Reporting

  • Review of complex UK/International month end provisions including investigation of monthly variances for your area of responsibility and liaison with the Global Service Centre (GSC) in Poland

  • Support the MI Team Leader (Management Accounts) in the drive for continued improvement of management reporting

  • Development of new reports and processes in order to establish the creation of a specialist management information team

  • Support the transition of processes to the GSC

  • Review and maintenance of UK/International headcounts

  • Liaison with external auditors regarding various deliverables for the audit of UK LLP and its subsidiaries, ensuring that UK GAAP / IFRS statutory reporting requirements are met

  • Opportunities to get involved in various ad hoc projects within the team and with other finance teams as required

Controls

  • Reconciliation and review of balance sheet/inter-company accounts, investigation into variances and resolution

  • Support the MI Team Leader (Management Accounts) to improve the quality of controls and efficiencies within the team

ABOUT YOU

  • Newly qualified / qualified accountant

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, Sumif, Vlookup)

  • Good team working skills as well as being able to work independently when needed

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Advocate of continuous improvement
