Business Area – Information Technology
Role: Test Analyst (up to 9 months FTC)
Location: Glasgow
Reporting to: Test & Quality Assurance Manager
Hours of work -
Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 5:30, however you may be required to work additional hours to facilitate project implementations or support call resolution
Department/ Role Overview:
To assist in testing key business IT applications to ensure they meet business requirements and objectives
Main responsibilities:
- Working within an established team of Test Analysts
- Analyse testing inputs, prepare and execute tests using defined test procedures
- Test both n-tier and web based applications
- Follow test level test plans, working to agreed timeframes and resource plans
- Prepare detailed test conditions and test scripts
- Execute test scripts, accurately recording all test results
- Maintain defect log, prioritising in accordance to guidelines and seeing through to resolution
- Peer review test documentation
- Provide informative daily updates to Senior Test Analyst and Test & QA Manager (if required)
- Provide weekly progress updates as required/requested
- Provide full support to Senior Test Analyst'
- Ability to work on multiple projects
Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies.
Essential skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience within manual testing frameworks and environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective planning and organisation skills
- Copes well under pressure and with uncertainty
- Rapid learner
- Drives for results
- Problem solving ability
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in computer science
Desired skills and experience
- Test automation (Selenium, Zap Test)
- Continuous improvement processes
- Awareness of legal applications
- SQL/PLSQL
- Microsoft Office templates (Word & Excel)
- ISEB/ISTQB certification
- Knowledge of JIRA for Defect Management
- Exposure Test Management Tooling – preferably Zephyr
