Job Details

It's no secret that we're an ambitious firm and our vision and our culture truly reflects that.  At the heart of this is an outstanding client experience, something that Womble Bond Dickinson prides itself on and something that we've become so well known for.  We believe it's what will support the growth of our business, allow us to do rewarding and profitable work and create a sustainable business for our people.  Central to all of this is our Practice Development Lawyers who play a key part in enabling our lawyers to deliver efficient and technology-driven legal services.

Our Real Estate business group is currently looking for a Paralegal to join them to provide much needed support to Katherine Crowley and Frances Richards, the group's  Practice Development Lawyers. Working with a multi-office team of over 200 fee earners, Katherine and Frances's role is vital to the on-going development of the Real Estate practice, strategy and client service experience at an exciting stage of the firm's growth and development.  Based from Southampton this is a full-time permanent role.

What will you be doing?

There's a lot to learn and you'll be given the training you need.  You'll be an important part of the Real Estate practice development team  assisting with internal communications, training, precedents, know-how, horizon scanning and legal research and analysis.  We're in the process of rolling out the firm's new knowledge management system so you'll be involved in promoting its use and getting lawyers familiar with its functionality. We're looking for you to be social media savvy as we'd like you to assist with the creation of new social media channels and be responsible for their maintenance.  This is a wide-ranging role and you'll also be able to get involved with cross-firm initiatives, for example Kira (our AI data extraction software), DocuSign e-signatures and the replacement of our existing intranet platform in addition to   in addition to providing crucial administration support.

So what are we looking for?

You will have already completed your law degree, but you don't need previous experience within a law firm.  It goes without saying that you'll be a natural communicator with strong written and verbal skills and  good attention to detail.  This is a busy team so you'll need to be prepared to work under pressure with a high volume of work.  Due to the nature of the role you'll be organised and self-motivated with great people skills.  We use Microsoft Word, Excel, Filesite, and Skype for Business so excellent IT capabilities are necessary to be successful in this role.

What's in it for you?

We know that it's not all about us.  You'll want to be assured that this is the right opportunity for you and we really believe that this is a fantastic place to work.  We've worked hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms, and puts people at the heart of everything that we do. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!  We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that become lasting friendships.  In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
