The nature of our support is wide-ranging from troubleshooting information databases, sourcing laws and regulations and seeking commentary on new legal developments through to producing company profiles, assessing our competitive environment and helping to deepen our people's understanding of the industry sectors in which our clients operate.

The role is part of a new team with significant development opportunities. The Information Resources Executive will support the Information Resources Manager to ensure that the international business has access to the legal and business information sources it needs. You will be involved in all aspects of evaluation, procurement and management of information resources as well as supporting the provision of training on the use of resources.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the information resources manager with specific projects to help transition the function from a hard copy traditional library to digital delivery of information resources.

  • Collating information - pulling together information for a variety of needs and producing reports on the information.

  • Maintaining records - ensuring that records tracking the procurement and usage of information resources are kept up-to-date and accurate.

  • Procurement processing - supporting the ordering, contract review, invoice processing and processing of purchases and renewals.

  • Managing hard copies - taking primary responsibility for managing the central collection of hard copy books and journals in the UK and supporting the Research team with handling research enquiries requiring the provision of information from hard copy resources.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Ideally you will have some experience of managing information services, or otherwise a keen interest in information and research.

  • You have a customer-focused attitude with a practical can-do mentality.

  • You are able to handle competing priorities and expectations in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner.

  • You apply a high level of attention to detail, are well organised and have sound judgment.

  • You are able to communicate effectively and clearly, both in writing and verbally, in English.

  • You have excellent numeracy skills and have the agility to work with figures in multiple currencies.

  • You build strong working relationships in both physical and virtual teams and are a reliable and flexible team member.

  • You will have the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new skills and to continuously improve who you are and your way of working.

  • Experience of using major legal or business digital information resources such as LexisNexis, Practical Law, Westlaw, OneSource/Avention, BvD (Mint/Orbis), Capital IQ or other major industry specific information resources.

This list is not meant to be exhaustive and can be varied as required to develop the role.
