Job Details

Managing risk, meeting our regulatory obligations, and complying with service standards are of vital importance to us.  It's a big job - read on to find out how we're doing it and how you can help.

So what's the job?

This job will see you working within our Business Assurance Unit (BAU) providing expert and up to date information to people across our firm from legal teams to finance, IT, HR and many others.  You'll be a point of contact for queries relating to risk and best practice -  but don't worry as you'll have access to all the information you need to be able to do this.  We'll also give you the training you'll need.

BAU are an extremely important team who help protect our firm and contribute to the overall success of our firm by ensuring that we are working effectively.

This is a permanent position based in our Plymouth office.  Based on the Hoe our Plymouth office boasts spectacular views of the coastline.

What will I actually be doing day to day?

You'll be conducting conflict searches, credit checks, producing reports, investigating queries, interrogating external databases, assessing results, updating our rates system and dealing with a variety of queries from across the firm.  There is a great deal to learn but as mentioned our Business Assurance Services Manager and the rest of the team will be on hand to train and guide you through.  It's a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills.

This is just a snapshot we have a more comprehensive job description.

Who will I work with?

As I mentioned you'll work as part of our Business Assurance Unit which forms part of our Risk and Best Practice team.  You'll interact with the wider team which incorporates a legal team, internal audit, compliance, projects and information security.  They all work together to ensure we consistently deliver outstanding client service through the creation of proportionate, risk based policies, procedures and systems.

Ok so what experience do I need?

We'll be looking for previous administration experience.  A background in accounting, finance, banking or similar would be useful in this role.  You'll need to demonstrate your ability to deal with queries, analyse data and resolve problems.  Without a doubt this role requires attention to detail, organisation, initiative and the ability to think on your feet.  You'll also need strong IT skills to be able to navigate various systems, databases and web sites. This is an influential position that requires the ability to engage our people through effective communication skills.
