THE ROLE 
    
As a Professional Support Lawyer you are responsible for supporting partners and lawyers in the maintenance of the standard documents and know-how in the office. You will also be expected to be heavily involved in any other quality initiative driven by either the local office or internationally.  

Furthermore, you will be responsible for providing legal and administrative support to Partners and Associates in our Paris office. You will assist fee earners to undertake tasks in a timely and effective manner. As this is based in France it is essential that candidates have a good understanding of French law.
    
This role will be an excellent opportunity for a Professional Support Lawyer or Paralegal to join a busy and dynamic practice, working on a variety of files with high profile clients.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the group's standard documents, making sure they are kept up-to-date and remain legally accurate, relevant and reflect best market practice

  • Develop new standard documents needed by the group

  • Encourage usage and seek feedback on the group's standard documents

  • Review, analyse and report on usage on a regular basis, and advise the group's partners on action to be taken to improve usage or address misuse

  • Act as the first point of contact for fee earners in the group for queries regarding the firm's standard documents

  • Liaise with Knowledge Development Lawyers locally and internationally as needed to resolve queries, share best practice and ensure consistency between the firm's standard documents generally

  • Establish and maintain the group's collection of know-how, encouraging and driving contributions from fee earners and facilitating the retrieval and sharing of know-how within the group

  • Identify, design and deliver training curriculum to meet training needs of the group

  • Conduct complex legal research to support the groups partners and lawyers; ensuring fee earners in the group are aware of legal, regulatory and commercial developments

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES 

  • Ideally obtained a Master's degree in law

  • Proven track record as a lawyer in a specialist area

  • Native French speaker with an excellent command of English (verbal and written)

  • Able to anticipate problems and recommend/implement contingency plans

  • Investigative - respond adequately to challenges by exhausting all resources

  • Resourceful - able to think creatively and provide best practice solutions

  • Guidance - able to empower others with the right information to enable them to make informed decisions and take action

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and managing complexity

  • Problem solver - comfortable of managing projects

  • Self-sufficient, self-starter, responsive and proactive
