Job Details

Our national Real Estate dispute resolution team is one of the largest and most highly rated in the UK.  We're proud of our Chambers and Partners ranking -  Band 1 in the South West so you can be assured of the quality of the team you're joining.  The Bristol team, led by Partner, James Rees advise a broad range of clients on all aspects of commercial property dispute resolution and property management.  We've an enviable client list, made up of landlords and tenants (with national portfolios), developers and investors, ranging from significant public and quasi-public sector bodies to FTSE 250 household names across a range of sectors including transport and infrastructure, retail, leisure, energy and charities.

As a business we're growing, and the Real Estate dispute resolution team are contributing to that through an exciting new client win.  As a result, we're looking to recruit another lawyer into the team.

So what will you be doing?

Working within a close-knit supportive team, you'll be advising our clients on a wide range of substantial contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant (e.g. 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations and break notices) and general property issues such as adverse possession, easements and title disputes.

What do the ideal candidates look like?

You'll either be a newly qualified lawyer who's had exposure to quality litigation work during your training contract from a large regional or city firm or a property litigation lawyer with around one or two years' experience in any of the above.  Whatever your experience level you'll possess excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism and a natural ability to build lasting relationships with our clients.  And if you have an ability to apply forensic intelligence to complex issues and a personal resilience to support challenging yet rewarding cases, then we really want to hear from you.

So what makes it so great to work here?

These new opportunities provide the building blocks for a great career that will allow you to ultimately identify and then hone an area of expertise to further develop your specialism with an independently recognised leading Real Estate Dispute Resolution Team that is ranked Band 1 in the South West and as National Leaders outside of London.  Not only will you get to learn from true leaders in their field, you'll also have access to a variety of opportunities to really get to know and understand our clients business from the inside.

In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.

If you think that’s you, then get in touch to find out more; my name is Emma Forrester and you can reach me on 0117 989 6593.
