Secretarial Supervisor – Real Estate (Newcastle)

A great opportunity to join our Residential Real Estate team in Newcastle as a Secretarial Supervisor has arisen.

What do the Real Estate team do?

Our Real Estate teams are growing, fast.  With a national presence of over 200 fee earners across 9 UK locations we're a force to be reckoned with.  But just because we're big doesn't mean we've lost our personal touch.  It’s the quality and commerciality of our service, our industry insight and the talent and passion of our people that engages our clients, and they love what we do.  It also means that our people are engaged, and excited about the opportunities for growth and development in our business – there is no doubt that it's an exciting place to be.

What is the role?

In order to provide excellent service to clients, we need excellent people.  Aside from our Lawyers we also need skilled and talented support staff and this leads to our current opening in Newcastle.  We are looking for a Secretarial Supervisor for whose day to day responsibilities will include ensuring the provision of a professional secretarial service whilst carrying out your own secretarial work; acting as first point of contact for all secretarial queries within your allocated teams; ensuring sufficient secretarial support is given to the fee earners, including reorganising secretarial resources in the event of secretarial shortages and managing the dictation workflow within your own area.

So what are we looking for?

Primarily we are looking for a Secretary who has experience of working in the legal sector, ideally within property/real estate.  A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, as are excellent IT skills and a strong team ethic. Good communication and relationship building skills are a must, as is the ability to meet deadlines.  We use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, so experience of working with these and other bespoke legal packages is necessary.  Previous supervisory experience is not necessarily essential, but you must learn to balance these two, equally important roles, to ensure the efficient running of the department. You will need to be an excellent communicator, have the ability to enthuse and motivate others and be committed to the firm’s continued success.
