Our UK Real Estate team has a key role to play in delivering on our sector strategy. That's why we now have more than two hundred lawyers across our nationally respected teams.

Technical excellence is no longer enough, so we've worked hard to ensure that we combine that with a genuine understanding of our clients and their businesses which allows us to add real commercial value.  Our lawyers work across specialist teams, drawing on their strengths to deliver commercial solutions for our clients.  Our Residential team now has an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join the team in Newcastle or Leeds.

The team act for a number of national house-builder and social housing clients, specialising in the sale and purchase of residential properties across the UK.  However, this role will see you working, predominately, with national house-builder clients. 

What will you be doing?

In this varied role you'll be dealing with all aspects of the plot sales process including issuing contract packs, responding to enquiries, reporting to and updating clients and attending to exchanges and completions.  That's not all, you'll also be assisting with all aspects of the part exchange purchase and sale of part exchange properties process (excluding title checks), ordering pre-contract searches, reporting to and updating clients, post exchange steps and post completion formalities plus processing Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.

So what does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll bring exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, strong drafting skills and be able to work to tight deadlines whilst under pressure with a natural ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally.

You'll have some previous residential property experience ideally in new-build or plot sales, though this is not essential.  What is essential is an enthusiasm and interest in this area of law and preference will be given to applicants able to demonstrate their passion for developing within this sector.  That said, consideration will also be given to anyone with a good knowledge of conveyancing generally working in this sector in an administrative or similar function looking to progress into a Paralegal role.
