This is an important role within Business Solutions as a key member of the Database team working under the direction of the Senior Database Administrator. The role requires both SQL database administrator and development skills along with experience of supporting and integrating 3rd party applications. The incumbent will demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and knowledge within an enterprise SQL database environment whilst taking into account the firm's geographical and technical footprint.
The incumbent will use industry standard tools and techniques to proactively assist in managing our environment and attending to 2nd/3rd line support queries. They will work with our Application Development (APPDEV), Financial Systems (FINSYS) and Application Support (APPSUPP) teams, advising on efficient code techniques, troubleshooting and supporting the releases/phases of the core project deliverables.
The SQL Application Analyst will act as the back-up for the Senior Database Administrator assisting and supporting month and year end processes whilst providing cover during absence.
Our environments are under constant review and scrutiny, not just to upgrade to the latest versions but to also ensure that they run efficiently and effectively with an excellent business continuity plan to ensure high availability.
The candidate will be expected to be involved in upgrades and the implementation of new systems, services and processes. They should be prepared to take ownership and to work with the Senior Database Administrator, Project Managers and Business Analysts when involved in projects and programmes.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player and be very good at managing their own workload unsupervised. They should be willing to share their experiences and best practises amongst the wider IT Team.
Although based in London, the role will provide support to the whole Firm.

Experience of working within the legal industry and using legal financial and applications suite is desirable.
