Media Relations Manager - London
This London-based role requires a capable external communications professional, to join a strong team and play a key role in the delivery of the Press Office function, as well as to work closely with business leaders in the design, delivery and execution of media relations campaigns, including social media, which are aligned to the overall firm wide communications objectives.
The Press Office Comprises two Media Relations Managers (one based in London, the other in Manchester), who together with the Head of Communications develop and execute a range of media relations campaigns which are aligned with business priorities/approved campaigns and help to increase market share by communicating individual experts (profile) capability, track record and sector expertise. The team also provides targeted Press Office support, including campaign support, to each Division, and is ultimately responsible for protecting and developing the firm's corporate reputation.

¢ Play an influential role in the development of sector specific / practice area and firm-wide media campaigns and work with internal clients as appropriate to develop news stories and campaigns that build reputation and grow market share. It is likely that the successful candidate will become embedded in a small number of sectors and teams, and also provide more general Press Office support (alongside the wider team) to help to raise the profile of the firm's London office.
¢ Develop and maintain a forward communications plan for the year, as part of the overall communications strategy and calendar.
¢ Monitor the news agenda and be proactive in identifying opportunities for AG to comment.
¢ Provide specialist advice and support to internal stakeholders.
¢ Oversee awards submissions and other campaigns which build independent recognition.
¢ Build strong relationships with key journalists and raise the firm's profile - especially in the relevant national and vertical media.
¢ Proactively develop media opportunities for spokespeople and identify opportunities that are aligned with, and integrate with key business priorities.
¢ Coach the firm's key spokespeople to enable them to identify and respond to enquiries and opportunities effectively, thus helping to raise the profile and increase the reputation of the firm.
¢ To be involved with other initiatives that increase the profile of the firm and contribute to raising its reputation with key audiences.
¢ Contribute to a high performing Press Office team.
Knowledge and skills
¢ Passion for communications. Proven track record of implementing influential communications programmes, together with strong communications skills (written and verbal) is critical.
¢ Demonstrable expertise in at least 3 of the firm's key sectors will be an advantage:
