We currently have an opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Leasehold Disputes Team (LDT) in our Newcastle office based on the Quayside. You'll see from our website that we have a lot of specialist areas. Our LDT team are part of our Dispute Resolution and Litigation Department who are made up of over 300 legal professionals.

We're a a transatlantic law firm, providing high-quality legal experience and outstanding personal service to a wide range of regional, national and international clients from 24 key locations across the United States and the United Kingdom. This is still a relatively new development for us and we're very excited about it but I'll tell you more about this later.
So what will I be doing?
This role will see you providing legal services using a case management system for the collection of service charge arrears on behalf of Property Investment Companies and Managing Agents. You'll maintain and proactively manage a caseload of up to 140 files (this figure may change from time to time in line with operational requirements / workflows), adhering to Lexcel standards.
What skills/academics are you looking for?
First and foremost you'll need legal qualifications. This role would suit an individual who holds a law degree or similar and who has ideally undertaken the LPC or similar. You'll need to solve problems and make decisions on files, provide a fast and efficient turnaround of work and maintain an enthusiastic and flexible approach as well as the willingness to use your initiative in order to take responsibility for tasks. This role needs a high standard of organisational skill, the ability to communicate confidently at all levels on the telephone, face to face and through routine correspondence and ultimately deliver a first-class service to our clients.
A sound knowledge of all relevant IT packages together with a willingness to expand this with training when required.
