Conflicts Assistant - Leeds
The Conflicts Assistant provides a conflict check processing and investigation service to the Firm. This involves undertaking conflict check searches against external and internal systems, assessing the results and creating concise reports which may identify potential professional, commercial or contractual conflict considerations. This role is based in Leeds.
► Processing conflict check requests from the initial receipt of the instruction, interrogating specific data sets using external and internal information systems and producing a written summary of the findings for partner /fee earner review.
► Independently analysing confidential records to assess relevance.
► Liaising with PA's, fee earners, partners and the Risk and Compliance team in relation to potential issues and general queries.
► Processing all queries received into the Business Acceptance Unit (BAU) inbox and other tasks as required including hand-offs to other departments. Dealing with compliance related queries with supervision.
► Monitor in and outbound workflow to ensure internal SLAs are being met.
► Compile Management Information ('MI') statistics for stakeholders.
► Undertake project work in relation to BAU workflows, monitoring systems and controls.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
► Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
► Capable of using own initiative with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
► Good communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriately both verbally and in writing.
► Adaptable and flexible.
► Proficient in using Microsoft Office software, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
► Experience in dealing with conflict check processing would be an advantage but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
