Our Pensions Group, based in all three UK offices, are involved in all aspects of advisory and corporate support pensions advice. The Group works closely with our Business Support and Restructuring team to provide advice to the PPF, restructuring professionals and trustees on pensions issues in the context of corporate duties, as well as with the Litigation department where there is a partner who specialises in pensions litigation.
We are looking for a Pensions Associate to work on a variety of pension matters. The role will involve corporate support work, advising scheme trustees and advising corporates. There is the potential to undertake some pensions litigation work if of particular interest This is a high performing, cohesive and busy team with excellent prospects for career development. You will handle your own matters (with supervision) and assist the Partners and Managing Associates on more complex matters. We have a strong reputation for providing Associates with early levels of responsibility within a supportive, stretching environment.
Knowledge, skills and experience required (bespoke to role)
Suitable candidates will have strong academics and gained at least 3-5 years pensions experience.
Along with excellent communication skills, we are seeking candidates with a good grounding in the basic elements of pensions law, a willingness to learn and develop commercial awareness, good social skills and plenty of drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide an excellent client service. In addition to this you should be able to demonstrate you are able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, challenging environment, where you will be required to meet tight deadlines.
As well as the above skills and competencies required, you will have:
- excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree
- clear understanding of the operation and structure of a top law firm
- ability to achieve continuous improvement and development
