The Business Development team is a centralised function advising and supporting the Firm in its marketing, sales support and business development activities. The key drivers for the team are to ensure we support the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy and in particular help:  

  • Drive profitable revenue growth (through the client universe and new clients)  
  • Develop and deliver a clear brand proposition through our sector focus   

The Role 

The Divisional BDM will sit within the central BD function providing support to the Real Estate Division. The goal is for the Divisional BDM to work with the wider team of specialists from across the business to deliver the divisional strategy, facilitate our go-to-market approach through our key sectors by essentially becoming a trusted account manager for the division. Based in London with occasional travel to other UK offices, as required. 


Provide end-to-end support to partners and others in the division including: 

  • Work with the team to decide what the 'hot topics' or areas of specialist knowledge we should be promoting through the year and the best format for promotion  
  • Design and manage campaigns/activities throughout the year, planning follow-up activity, working within defined budgets and tracking return on investment  
  • Work with the divisional leadership to develop/update divisional business plans, client targeting and conversion, driving greater cohesion and rigor 
  • Responsibility for Client Relationship Management of between 2 and 5 universe clients
  • Ensure that internal and external information is kept up to date and fed into the relevant marketing and BD tools (website/Engage/bids templates/std content etc)  
  • General profile raising internally (at regular sector / other divisional meetings) and externally (at events etc.)
  • Lead relevant pitch opportunities / working with the bids teams where appropriate  
  • Take responsibility for learning about the division and what work we do in that area so that insights are shared and opportunities for cross-selling are publicised (Engage and other relevant channels)  
  • Take steps to build a personal (internal and external) network within the division and across our sectors  

Knowledge, skills and experience required (bespoke to role)  

  • Able to lead a team and delegate to the most relevant individuals  
  • Work with specialist teams across BD to achieve objectives eg. Bids, Communications, PR and Marketing 
  • Able to bring people together from multiple sectors and directorates to align support for BD projects  
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload according to business need  
  • Able to manage competing tasks to completion against tight deadlines  
  • Competent communicator with confidence to interact professionally with senior leadership, other colleagues and externally  
  • Relevant divisional knowledge a bonus but the ability to learn about what we do and really understand the work is a necessity
