Our Property Litigation team in Southampton provide advice on the full range of contentious property issues. Working with a nationwide team of around 40 fee earners specialising in pure contentious work, the Southampton team have a widely deserved reputation for the provision of excellent service. Our clients include a number of FTSE 250 household names, across a range of sectors including transport and infrastructure, leisure, energy and charities.

We're a small team, and as one of two Paralegals, you'll have a really important role to play in supporting our lawyers in a wide range of contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant (e.g. 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations and break notices) and general property issues such as adverse possession, easements and title disputes. You'll also have the opportunity to take on your own case load of, primarily, lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, possession actions and the service of break notices.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
Ideally you'll have already completed your legal education including your Legal Practice Course, and will be eager get your legal career started. We're looking for someone who is ambitious and keen to gain some great quality experience before starting their training contract. Previous experience within real estate and/or litigation would be helpful, but by no means essential.
We're also keen to hear from you if you are CILEx qualified, are working towards the qualification, or even thinking about this as a route for you.
What's more important is that you're highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively as we often work to tight and urgent court deadlines. As a client facing role, you'll need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships.
