Paralegal in the Insurance Team of the Year. It sounds good doesn't it?
We were honoured to receive this award at the Legal Business Awards earlier this year, beating off some very stiff competition so it really is a testament to the quality of our lawyers, our innovative approach and our impressive track record in successfully defending some very complex claims. Our national insurance team are well established in the sector, providing specialist advice for over 40 years. Many of the team are leaders in their field, which for anyone at the start of their legal career is a great place to learn. The team are well known for their ability to defend complex professional negligence claims acting for insurers and their policyholders, which could include defending lawyers, accountants, architects, surveyors and investments and pensions professionals.
An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal or Trainee Legal Executive to join our Leeds team, on a 12 month fixed-term contract, working closely with Karen Eckstein. Karen specialises in tax and accountancy professional indemnity litigation, contentious tax and contentious trust and probate issues and is now looking for a Paralegal or Trainee Legal Executive to become an integral part of her team. This is a small team so you'll have a critical role to play in delivering a first-class service to our insurance clients, helping Karen to further develop her practice. We anticipate this role being a mix of fee-earning and administrative duties and because the team is small you'll have the opportunity to see the full life-cycle of the claims, from instruction through to mediation. We'll be relying on you for your case management skills, ensuring deadlines are met, files are up to date, enquiries dealt with promptly, clients updated regularly and research undertaken thoroughly.
So what are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is keen to build their career as an insurance fee-earner. It's important that we offer our clients the best possible client experience and we believe that comes from allowing them to build strong and meaningful relationships with their legal team. If you're looking to build your career in this specialism, we absolutely want to hear from you. You might already be working towards your CILEx qualification, or have gained previous experience as a paralegal within insurance or commercial disputes.
In any event, the qualification is less important than those great skills that you're going to be able to bring with you. Whilst we can give you some great development opportunities, the role is such that you'll need to be comfortable working self-sufficiently on occasion. That means being proactive, motivated and able to manage your workload effectively. You'll certainly be highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively as we often work to tight and urgent deadlines. As a client facing role, you'll need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships.
What's in it for you?
We know that it's not all about us. You'll want to be assured that this is the right opportunity for you and we really believe that this is a fantastic place to work. You'll be joining a supportive team where you can learn from true leaders in their field and build your experience with access to great quality work and great clients. Supported by a collegiate approach, and firm wide commitment to paralegal development there are fewer better places to start your legal career.
And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
If you think this is for you, why not get in touch to find out more; my name is Emma Forrester and you can reach me on 0117 989 6593.
