The Private Wealth team at Womble Bond Dickinson has a well-deserved reputation for delivering the highest quality legal advice and outstanding client service to individuals and their families.  Whilst proud of our 200 year heritage, we are innovative, dynamic and ambitious.

About us

Our ability to deliver seamless advice from our multi-disciplinary team is a distinctive proposition.  Whether landowners or entrepreneurs, old money or new, the themes remain the same: we seek to develop a thorough understanding of our clients' circumstances, needs and aspirations and then use that understanding to help them navigate the legal and financial landscape to their best advantage.

Our team is highly rated in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, and was this year shortlisted for STEP Private Client Law Firm of the Year.  The team in Bristol now has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Executive to join them.

What will you be doing?

Working closely alongside the team in Bristol and with the probate team in Newcastle, you will be administering taxable estates with business assets, agricultural assets and trust interests. Many estates will also include a foreign element.  Depending on your previous experience, the role could also include more general private client work such as drafting and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney and preparing wills for individuals including the use of life interest and discretionary trusts.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll have previous experience of working in a private client team, ideally in a large regional or national firm, and your main area of expertise will be probate but may also include wills, trusts, Inheritance Tax planning and Lasting Powers of Attorney.  It won't matter whether you’re still studying towards a CILEx qualification or are a Fellow of CILEx.  What does matter is that you have around 5 years of experience in these areas; and whilst not essential, your experience of general private client law will give your application a distinct advantage.

Just as important are excellent drafting and communication skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism and the desire and ability to build long lasting relationships with private clients.

What will you get in return?

In joining this high profile team with ambition and commitment to growth, not only will you get to learn from leaders in their field but you'll be supported by a collegiate approach and a firm wide commitment to career development.

We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms.   We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that become lasting friendships.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.

If you think that’s you, why not get in touch to find out more; my name is Emma Forrester and you can reach me on 0117 989 6593.
