The Recruitment Team sits within the HR department. The Recruitment team has two halves, the Graduate Recruitment Team and the Lateral Recruitment Team. The Lateral recruitment team are responsible for all Lawyer and Business Services recruits and joiners into the London office (with the exception of graduate trainees), including all permanent and non-permanent hires. The team is also responsible for the hiring of contractors, temps and work experience.

As part of the Recruitment team, the Recruitment Advisor will deliver an effective and efficient resourcing service for the firm, including sourcing and selection of candidates, management of offers, client management and evaluation of the recruitment process and provide administrative support to the Recruitment Specialists.

Your remit will be to deliver a full end to end recruitment process across dedicated Business Services functions, from taking the vacancy brief, sourcing and qualifying candidates, to making the offer. This will naturally involve building excellent relationships with hiring managers and strong stakeholder management. You will work closely with the recruitment team, Senior HR Managers and wider HR.

The role-holder will also be proactive in ensuring that recruitment processes and systems are kept up to date in order for the team to run as smoothly as possible.

Key tasks and responsibilities of role include:


  • Responsible for managing the end to end recruitment process for the relevant Practice Areas or Business Services functions, for an excellent service delivery;

  • Work closely with colleagues in the Recruitment team, to manage high volume of activity, in a timely fashion, using processes effectively; focused upon direct sourcing.

  • Understand your key deliverables and metrics, to ensure that details of the process and outputs can be measured and reported on as necessary;

  • Respond to a range of queries and carry out administrative procedures;

  •  Continually monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's processes and suggest/implement improvements;

  • Maintain relevant knowledge by keeping up to date with developments in policy or regulatory changes.


  • Work with the recruitment team, providing administrative support and resolving queries and cases from internal and external clients of the team in order to support the wider HR team and the firm;

  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment team supporting them through recruiting candidates from targeting, selection, through to offer and induction;

  • Manage regular administrative tasks, such as booking rooms, printing documents, filing candidate details, processing invoices, ordering stationary and arranging interviews;

  • Daily monitoring of the Recruitment London inbox and phone line.  Respond to queries on a daily basis. Escalating any queries that need input from the team;

  • Post job adverts online and manage responses;

  • Compiling new joiner offer packs and helping to coordinate and manage on boarding and induction;

  • Meeting new joiners / candidates to copy passports;

  • Input and maintain accurate employee records using appropriate HR systems including OTAC and Peoplesoft;

  • It will also be your responsibility to obtain the correct level of authorization for work being carried out and escalate complex queries and requests as appropriate.


  • Develop and manage strong relations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a good understanding of the department and teams you are recruiting for;

  • Deal with Managers and employees to resolve queries or carry out requests within scope of the role;

  • Provide Managers with professional direction and guidance enabling them to manage recruitment more effectively;

  • Manage 3rd party relationships and the Agency PSL;

  • Share information, advice and knowledge with other team members.



  • Highly client focused with strong influencing, communication and team working skills;

  • PC literate and ideally have experience of e-Recruitment tools and PeopleSoft;

  • Accurate worker with high attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, an ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload and to prioritise urgent requests.

  • A friendly and outgoing manner and the ability to communicate confidently by telephone and face to face, representing the firm.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and to demonstrate credibility with people at all levels.

  • A strong and dedicated team player with the ability to keep colleagues updated and manage expectations.

  • Proven ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced role and operate under pressure.

  • Quick learner with proven ability to pick up new systems and processes.



  • Recruitment experience gained from within in-house or agency; Experience of sourcing candidates directly through social media and relevant job boards;

  •  Experience of interviewing candidates and administering assessments;

  • Experience in using your judgement to provide solutions to problems.


  • You will have knowledge of Recruitment having performed a similar role.
  • A basic understanding of an in-house recruitment processes would be an advantage but not essential.
