Employee Incentives Lawyer 1-2PQE
An opportunity to work for a multi-faceted and expanding City employee incentives practice and specialise as an employee share scheme lawyer.
About the role
Our partners are known for their strong technical ability and commercial acumen. The partner who heads the team, Nicholas Stretch, is a leading industry figure who chairs the tax committee of Share Plan Lawyers. The team is described as “very responsive and creative”, and is about to combine with the practices of Nabarro and Olswang where further growth is expected.
We advise a wide range of quoted and unquoted companies on employee equity and cash bonus arrangements, mostly (but not exclusively) on the tax and transactional issues. In addition, we regularly advise on employee trusts, including advising trustees, and firms in the financial services sector on how to comply with Remuneration Codes. We also advise on other employee tax issues, including employee terminations. You will work across the firm drawing on corporate, employment and tax expertise, as well as with other offices in the UK and international CMS offices.
One of the team’s strengths is its range of clients from FTSE 100 companies to small start-ups, and the range of work that comes from that.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be a qualified solicitor with 1-2PQE.
• Be able to demonstrate an interest in, and enthusiasm for, employee share scheme work and have some experience in this area either while training or on qualification.
• Have a strong interest in how employee incentives are affected by corporate transactions.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Have good client handling skills.
• Be commercially orientated with good business acumen and a commitment to innovation.
• Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, interacting with other departments of the firm.
• Be well-organised with strong administration and time management skills and the ability and drive to meet deadlines.
