THE ROLE

DLA Piper's Communications & Brand team is responsible for the successful delivery of PR, Internal and Digital communications that support the firm's strategy across the International firm (EMEA & Asia Pacific).

We are seeking a Corporate Communications Manager with the gravitas and expertise required to lead on the development and delivery of communications campaigns and strategies for the International firm.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with PR, Brand, Internal and Digital Communications teams to devise and deliver compelling and impactful campaigns
  • Building and cultivating relationships with press contacts at target media
  • Developing strategy, positioning, writing press releases and preparing media briefing documents, working closely with partners and relevant contacts across business services
  • Developing communications plans and implementing those plans tactically in order to generate positive media coverage and engaged internal and digital audiences
  • Contributing to the ideas generation process and development of holistic communications campaigns
  • Drafting press releases, awards submissions and preparing media briefing documents
  • Preparing and briefing partners and business services leaders for media interviews including providing media training
  • Developing and executing thought leadership campaigns
  • Providing junior communications colleagues with guidance and support

The role holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Have an excellent command of the English language, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to write concise copy
  • Have a degree and extensive corporate communications experience either in-house or at a consultancy
  • Have a track record in delivering effective corporate communications campaigns
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in current affairs
  • Be able to establish credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Be a dynamic and diplomatic communicator, with great networking and advocacy skills
  • Display a proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
  • Be comfortable multi-tasking and working to sometimes conflicting timescales
  • Be a self-starter, who is able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team
  • Have the ability to see delegated tasks through to completion at a high standard
  • Be comfortable operating in sometimes ambiguous situations, demonstrating a flexible and collaborative personal working style
