With a focus on eleven key sectors (Energy & Natural Resources; Financial Institutions; Healthcare;  Insurance; Manufacturing;  Real Estate; Retail and Consumer; Transport; Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals; Technology and Private Wealth) the firm’s experience allows it to build strong relationships and deliver an excellent service to clients.

The team

Our profitable growth is driven through our strategic sectors and our Business Development team play a crucial in driving this strategy.  Our Sector Managers are at the heart of the business supporting and advising partners and lawyers in shaping, developing and implementing our sector plans strategically and tactically.  Our Sector Managers demonstrate real expertise in developing  our clients and take time to understand the client, their business and the sector they work in.  In understanding the sector and our client’s needs/drivers our Sector Managers are able to identify: potential new business opportunities within our sectors; common themes and trends that may have an impact on our clients; and areas for investment to shape our service provision. Having this broad understanding also enables them to collaborate on the development of thought leadership and broader campaigns.

The role

We're now looking for an experienced Business Development and Marketing Professional to join as Sector Manager. The role could be based in either Newcastle or Bristol but there will be a degree of travelling involved.

To be successful in this role you'll already have a proven track record of delivering business development programmes, preferably within the professional services sector.  Experience of sales cycles and pipeline development would also be of interest.  You'll have  the gravitas to influence at Partner level and the ability to challenge thinking.  As a business we're on an ambitious growth path and it's  essential that you have a flexible and adaptable approach.  Your communication skills, both written and verbal will be first class.

So what makes it so great to work here?

We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!  We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that become lasting friendships.  In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.

Next steps

So if what matters most to you is being part of a committed, talented and dynamic team, who go that extra mile to provide an outstanding experience to clients both internal and external, then please make an application via our website with your CV and a covering letter.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (lisa.gater@wbd-uk.com)
