Job description

Principal responsibilities:

Budgeting

  • Work alongside the Management Accountant to complete Fee Earner department budgets.
  • Supporting Management Accountant on Central Support department budgets as well as direct responsibility for running Regional office budget process.

Management Accounts

  • Prepare management accounts for selected Central Support departments under Management Accountant supervision.
  • Prepare management accounts for selected fee earner departments, meeting with departments as appropriate to discuss performance.
  • Posting Partner charges.
  • Review and report on department travel and staff entertaining budgets.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor capital spend against budget and post depreciation charge.
  • Reviewing expense nominals and reanalysing costs as appropriate.
  • Responsible for general nominal ledger and budget queries and posting day to day entries.

Year end

  • Prepare back up for year end lead schedules.
  • Support Financial Accountant and Management Accountant in year end processes.
  • Responsibility for preparing Service company year end accounts.

Other

  • Main point of contact for all regional accounting.
  • Complete month end.
  • Responsible for accounting for Finance and Operating Leases and financing capital spend via leasing.
  • Calculate capital requirements in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
  • Calculate and post interest on Partner's capital and current accounts.
  • Prepare business cases.
  • Prepare invoices for tenants for rent, electricity and other floor charges.
  • Assist Management Accountant with other ad hoc duties.
