We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Internal Communications Executive to join our Brand and Communications team. This role can be based in either our Bristol or London offices and will be an initial 12 month FTC.

Osborne Clarke is a leading international legal practice and we work with a wide range of commercial clients such as Facebook and Vodafone. We are renowned for our unstuffy and supportive culture, encouraging all our people to make the most of their talent in a fast growing and exciting environment.

Our focused strategy and open culture has been recognised by Roll on Friday following the award of being jointly named their 2018 'Law Firm of the Year'.

The Team

The Brand and Communications team is part of our wider Sales and Marketing Group. This dedicated, dynamic and multi-disciplinary team of experts have a wide remit across: brand design and reputation management; digital channels; PR; and internal communications.

As a central support to the UK and international business we work with stakeholders of all levels. And our internal communications play a key strategic role by supporting the International and UK Executive Boards in the delivery of our business strategy.

We're always seeking innovative ways to improve our internal communications delivery and channels. For example we are just celebrating the first anniversary of our in-house recording studio, OC.TV which we use for both external and internal communications.

We are now looking to expand our team and this new role is an exciting opportunity for a talented IC professional with strong planning, creative and delivery skills.

What you'll do

You will work across our internal communications work streams and channels to support the UK and International business. You will be providing communications support and messaging for our key Strategic Change Programmes along with projects and initiatives across Finance, HR, IT and Marketing (both firm-wide in the UK and across our international organisation).

You will help shape our communications strategy, as well as working on regular business updates. The role will also allow you the opportunity to run your own projects, while also supporting the Internal Communications Manager who will be your line manager.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have a background in internal communications, ideally with experience that's been focused around the delivery of larger communications projects alongside day-to-day delivery. We are looking for someone who is capable, confident and innovative, with experience of delivering strategic communications or is ready to take a step up into a more strategic role.

You will be able to:

  • Hit the ground running, with experience of managing change communications projects in a corporate context.
  • Build on your existing capabilities by being involved with complex and/or large scale projects.
  • Be proactive and happy to use your initiative and to work independently
  • Be confident and capable of building effective relationships at all levels.
  • Understand, interpret and simplify complex business messaging, aligning an overall communications strategy with a UK and International strategy.
  • Discuss – and appropriately challenging – requirements, timeframes and project briefs to assist with high-quality, timely and planned delivery.
  • Be highly proficient in producing written and visual content including writing and editing copy, with excellent proofreading, spelling and grammar skills.
  • Represent the Osborne Clarke culture and write in our tone of voice, and to consider the impact of messaging for different stakeholder groups and to adjust the tone and content accordingly.
