The role of Billing Advisor is situated within the Billing and Collections team for the London office. Revenue for the London office in 2016/2017 was in excess of £495m.
The specific purpose of this role is to provide billing activities with a high degree of client focus for a number of Partners within the London office; specifically related to more complex and high-level matters.
The role also involves providing timely and accurate billing information to your Billing Manager, to assist with billing forecasts and the identification of key issues. Therefore, the ability to understand the importance of billing targets and their achievements in relation to the financial management of a large professional services firm is essential.
Partner/Fee-earner billing meetings and follow up (with responsibilities for up to 20 Partners).
Ensuring new matters are set up in accordance with client agreements (rates; ebilling settings, etc.).
Ensuring bills are prepared in accordance with client agreements and the Firms' processes.
Amending, authorising and printing bills.
Deliver a collaborative and pro-active approach in working with the collections team throughout the billing and collections process.
Reviewing, updating the FAST tool to assist and support billing forecasts in achieving monthly billing targets.
Updating and reviewing the FAST Reports.
Collecting/chasing for GPMS/Incept Information.
Providing timely and accurate feedback to the Billing Manager.
Escalation of issues/problems/concerns to the Billing Manager.
Assigning tasks to the Billing Assistants (where applicable).
Assisting with the identification of Client reporting requirements.
Maintaining and updating systems in a timely manner.
Various adhoc queries and problem solving.

Skills and Qualifications
You will have a pro-active approach and be able to influence billing activities in order to achieve billing targets.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude to understand new concepts and processes quickly. You will also be required to delegate tasks throughout the billing team structure, with a view to developing and enhancing billing efficiencies.
You will be able to demonstrate a very high level of attention to detail.
You will need a flexible working approach and the confidence to communicate, both written and verbally, with people at all levels.
You will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of working within a billing or revenue team, ideally within a Professional Service firm environment.
You will have experience and knowledge of VAT/SAR's issues applicable to the billing process.
You will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and expertise of a global professional services practice management system (Keystone, Elite, CMS or SAP), together with a sound knowledge of Excel and Word.
You will have a good understanding of the financial processes that underpin billing activities and the ability to apply these; dealing with the requirements of Partners and the clients with whom they work.
You will have GCSE's or equivalent, grade A-C including Maths.
