Competition Associate - London
The Competition team has a strong reputation and is highly ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500 (tier 1 in Leeds and Manchester and tier 4 in London, alongside CMS, DLA, Shearman & Sterling and Pinsent Masons). The team has an enviable client base, which includes RBS, Sainsbury's, Network Rail, Rolls-Royce, William Hill, United Utilities and Ofwat and has represented main parties in high profile investigations, including the CMA's retail banking and digital comparison tools market studies/investigations, CMA and regulatory enforcement decisions including bathroom fittings and airport car parking, Phase I and Phase II merger investigations including JD Sports/Go Outdoors and Alliance Medical/IBA, and high profile competition litigation cases including power cables and copper fittings.
The team is already delivering high quality work for leading clients and requires an exceptional mid to senior level associate to help to grow the practice and develop these key client relationships.
This role requires a solid foundation and strong experience in competition law.
The successful candidate will be an active member of the team and will expected to have strong technical experience gained in a leading competition practice in London or Brussels, with at least three years' post qualification experience (or equivalent).
The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop client relationships and contribute to the development of a team that has an impressive breadth of clients.
Some experience in competition litigation would be helpful (but not essential).
All candidates will be expected to demonstrate a track record of strong performance against the general competencies for an Associate at level 2 as described on the careers pages of our website.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
The successful candidate will have:
